Most sports drinks are limited in how much carbohydrate they can carry before the solution becomes hard to tolerate. Maurten uses a gelling system that sets at the pH of the stomach, and runs its carbohydrate at a much higher concentration than a standard drink.

These Gels contain only six ingredients with no added flavours, artificial preservatives or colourants. The neutral taste is deliberate, designed to reduce flavour fatigue over long sessions.

No. Maurten's sachets use a multi-layer construction that keeps the fuel stable but isn't recyclable, so they go in general waste. The outer cartons are cardboard and can be recycled.

Carbohydrate in a 0.8:1 fructose to glucose ratio. Glucose and fructose are absorbed by separate intestinal transporters, which is why endurance fuels combine the two.
